Wellington Bowmen were well represented at the Somerset County Archery Association’s Senior and Junior Indoor Championship on the14th November 2021.

No wins this time around, but very pleased to see Rachel finish third in the county (fourth overall) in Ladies Barebow.

The Wellington Bowmen mixed team finished third overall.

Peter shooting recurve finished sixth in the county and tenth overall. And David Shepard and Jeremy Hidderley shooting Gents Barebow finished fourth and fifth respectively in the county (sixth and seventh overall).

It was great to see so many people back shooting at a tournament. Many thanks to the county tournament organiser (Robin) and of course all the judges and other volunteers that make these things happen for the rest of us.

It’s a great experience for any archer to have a go at competitions. Even if you don’t expect to do very well, you might surprise yourself, but you will certainly witness some good archery. You also get to meet people who are passionate and knowledgable about the sport. You might pick up on a technique that helps you. Failing that, you might learn some new excuses!
